My first Fire Walk experience
There are transitions in life that we all must go through. One of my favorite memories is that first fire walk that I chose to do as a result of the positive changes I had been undergoing.
I had quit my most beloved position at a local rehabilitation hospital. I was heartbroken about it but needed to go. I had started to see dead people out the corner of my eye and didn’t understand what was going on. I found out later that I was a psycho pomp (death walker) and that my gifts had awakened. Nurses that see dead people are rare and the secret was tearing me apart. That was just the first one. I started a position as a home health nurse through a local agency. And the end of that contract I completely fell apart and couldn’t work. I managed to get into counseling and started house cleaning to make ends meet.
I recovered and had just gotten a job at a local hospital and my mental health was holding and I felt so good about life and where I was, when I found out that a fire walk was coming to town. I was so excited and decided that I needed to go to celebrate my healing and how I was able to move on. I grabbed several friends so we could do it together.
I remember being at the end of the fire walk and hearing encouragement from everyone around me. I closed my eyes and took that step…
And I didn’t get burned. Surprise! I walked over it several times after that. I was so high that night that I decided that I wanted to learn how to conduct fire walks!
It was several years before I had the opportunity. But I did it.
I love how liberated it makes me feel. It’s doing that impossible thing, the thing that everyone swears that I can’t do, and I do it anyway. I can breakthrough into triumph and face my fears. I am capable of anything.
I want to share that with everyone!
